Springfield Way Works UPDATE

UPDATE FROM E.R.Y.C.

For safety reasons, our Highway Maintenance Team installed temporary traffic lights, and both our Street Works Team and Highways Team have been actively pushing Yorkshire Water to return and undertake the necessary corrective work.

We have now received a works permit from Yorkshire Water, and they are scheduled to attend the site this evening to carry out the repairs. Once the work is completed and our Highways Team has confirmed there are no remaining safety concerns, the temporary traffic lights will be removed.

We apologise for the length of time this has taken; however, as the manhole cover is Yorkshire Water’s asset, the responsibility for its repair lies with them. The authority has continually pressed for a resolution as a matter of urgency.
